On Wednesday 3rd April, we welcomed a wide variety of woodland owners, landowners, farmers, land agents and representatives from NGOs, local authorities and utilities to a Commercial Woodland Workshop, that we were delighted to run in conjunction with the RSPB in the idyllic surroundings of their Eltisley Estate in Cambridgeshire.
Our delegates enjoyed a highly informative day focusing on how good silvicultural and commercial, productive forest management can be successfully integrated with sensitive and skillful management, in order to protect precious woodland birds and wider bio-diversity objectives.
After listening to talks including a presentation by our Senior Forestry Consultant Cheryl Lundberg, our guests left the event with a deeper understanding of the opportunities for productive forestry and woodland management that works in harmony with the delivery of much-needed wildlife improvements.
Cheryl received high praise from delegates for the quality of her talk, including for her thoughtful and informative answers to the many questions she received. This dialogue, in conjunction with the opportunity for peer- to- peer networking with like-minded professionals added an extra layer of value by generating ideas for actionable strategies to what was already a useful event for those working in the commercial woodland sector.
