Design for Local Government
Corby Borough Council’s Thoroughsale and Hazel Woods are at the heart of Corby town. These woods serve as a community park incorporating the popular boating lake and cafe area, and also acts as the principle access to the multi-million pound Cube development which provides entertainment and leisure facilities to the community.
Part of the Borough Council’s ‘Deep Clean’ initiative was to produce a series of brochures and flyers which were distributed throughout the community. The aim was to inform the public of the investment and transformation of the woods into a safe, attractive community space and wildlife haven as well as to encourage community involvement.
A number of interpretation signs were also produced to highlight the ecological richness of this ancient woodland and provide information on how this would be managed and protected.
