On Thursday 4th April we were pleased to welcome delegates including housebuilders, planners, land agents, architects, estate owners, civil engineers and local authority representatives to our 11th Business Breakfast at Stanwick Lakes which focused on the topic of ‘Making plans in a complex world.’ Our key speaker at this well-attended event was Stephen Kelly, Joint Director of Planning and Economic Development for South Cambridgeshire District Council.
Stephen, who specialises in the delivery of organisational improvement programmes, covered a wide range of topics including generating consensus around spatial planning in a time of change, the importance of collaboration between government and local authority and the expectations surrounding the new focus on landscape-led growth, Natural Capital, Zero Carbon Futures and Nett Environmental Gain.
As always at our Business Breakfast events, there was ample opportunity for our guests to ask questions, network with fellow professionals and discuss other pertinent topics including the current opportunities around the Cambridge-Oxford corridor and the possible implications of Brexit.
As always, we were pleased to receive great feedback from the event, with 100% of attendees agreeing that Stephen Kelly was ‘very engaging’ as a speaker.
