Arboriculture Consultants and Their Importance
Arboriculture is a science, art, and practice. It’s geared towards ensuring that the good health of trees, shrubs, and plants is maintained. It also involves studying the behaviour of plants and trees in particular conditions. Arboriculture consultants study the response of trees to the environment and growth patterns.
With this kind of knowledge, an arborist knows how to cultivate plants and trees. There are a lot of techniques and practices taught in an arboriculture program. These techniques are then used by an arborist as an arboriculture consultant. This is mostly for tree maintenance, identifying the kind of tree that’ll be appropriate for a specific location, and much more.
Arborists have vast knowledge about the best fertilisers, possible diseases that trees can catch, proper insecticides for controlling insects, and other practical methods like pruning, bracing, cabling, and tree removal.
An arborist also possesses physical training to maintain the general health of trees. Pruning not only depends on technical knowledge – like when to prune or which technique to use – but also depends on their physical strength to perform these techniques.
An arborist consultant needs to have a mix of physical ability and mental skills to carry out these techniques.
Landscapers and arborists are usually confused.
If you’re not in the profession of caring and maintaining gardens, it’s easy to confuse the two. However, the two have big differences. There’s a reason why arboriculture is different from landscaping.
The role of an arboriculture consultant is listed below:
- Keeping the health of the plants and trees in check
- Identifying the possibilities of a tree catching a disease
- Maintenance of the property and landscape’s beauty
- Ensuring the greenery of a certain area is at its best
- Improving the aesthetics of the area and enhancing the value of the property
- Ensuring the trees remain safe
It’s the responsibility of every property owner to take good care of the trees on their property. There are more benefits rather than aesthetic value. A perfectly planned structure saves money and raises the value of the property by 20%.
Here at Lockhart Garratt, we’re proud to have a team of vastly experienced arboriculture consultants. We have spearheaded projects like the Baseline Assessment and Implementation of a Tree Risk Management Policy.
