Based at our Corby (Northamptonshire) office
The successful candidate will work within the Minerals & Waste Restoration, and Forestry business units to design, budget and deliver habitat, land restoration and woodland management projects. Fulfilling clients objectives through best practice and innovative thinking. Reporting to our Senior Forestry & Environmental Consultant.
Duties will include:
- Woodland survey and management planning
- Survey of habitat and infrastructure on minerals and waste sites
- Review and rationalisation of planning conditions
- Soil survey and soil profile design
- Habitat design (woodland, wetland, grassland)
- Restoration and aftercare management planning
- Budgeting of implementation and aftercare
- Sourcing felling permission, marketing thinning and supervision of woodland harvesting
- Specification and contract supervision of habitat creation and annual management operations
- Working with clients, agents, authorities, consultees and contractors at all levels
- Working with Directors / Seniors to develop new business
The role requires skills and experience in:
- Environmental planning
- Silviculture and habitat management
- Contract management
- Spreadsheet design and operation for the above tasks
- Strong report writing / literacy skills
- Good communication skills
- Commercially focussed
- Understanding of Countryside Stewardship
- Hold associate membership and working towards full membership of a professional body such as the Institute of Chartered Foresters or Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
